Eastside
High School
Meets : The JV meet (10th grade and under) will take place on
Wednesday, April 16.
Varsity Meet Thursday and Friday April 17 & 18.
Varsity Meet: ALL Schools from Greenville County including private schools will compete in ONE division
JV Meet: There will be a 7th - 10th grades division for the JV Meet. The JV Meet is for athletes who will not participate in the Varsity Meet. ALL Athletes in this meet MUST be 10th grade or under.
Entries: Each school may enter up to three athletes per event from any grade in the varsity meet. Only one relay team may be entered. Entries are unlimited for the JV meet, but JV athletes must be in the 10th grade or lower and may not be entered in the Varsity Meet.
Entry Fee: An entry fee of $5.00 per athlete up to $40.00 per team will be charged up to a maximum of $80 per school. Make checks payable to Eastside High and bring it to the coaches’ meeting/dinner. This entry must be paid before your team is allowed to participate. JV entry fee is $1.00 per entered athlete. Remember this fee is an ENTRY FEE - if you enter you MUST pay.
On-line Entry: All entries must be submitted on-line by email to eboehmke@greenville.k12.sc.us Right Click here to get the entry form (Microsoft Excel file). Click "save target as" and then save to desktop. (If a window pops up asking for user name and password, just click cancel). The instructions are on the top of the form. Please read all instructions carefully and return the entry forms by the entry deadline (April 13). Make sure your entries entered is reviewed prior to submitting, as additions will not be made. Substitutions, not additions, CAN ONLY take place at the coaches meeting.
Entry Deadline: All entries must be submitted by 9:00 pm Saturday April 13th. Please have them done on time so that I can have entry sheets completed by the Coaches Meeting. Awards: Awards
will be given to the top twelve places of each event and to members of each relay team.
A Most Valuable Field and a Most Valuable Track athlete will be
selected. Team awards for the top 4
teams will be given.
Ribbons will be given to 1 – 6 place in the JV meet.
There will be no team awards for the JV’s.
Event awards will be given to athletes in a ceremony on the awards
stand shortly after the conclusion of each event.
Coaches
Meeting: A dinner meeting will be held for all HEAD coaches on
Tuesday April 15 at 7:00 in the Eastside High cafeteria (Please try to have two
coaches at the meeting).
The meeting will be for distributing numbers and event rosters, scratches
and substitutions, establishing starting heights, and other general
information and rules for the meet. Each
school should be present. There
will be no additions made at this meeting and NO changes will be made after
this meeting. Please do not call,
fax or email me with any substitutions or changes after the entry deadline.
Track
Admission: All athletes
and coaches will be given wrist bracelets for admission into
the stadium. Bracelets will be
good for admission through any open gate.
Any person without a bracelet will be charged a $4.00 admission charge.
These bracelets are to be used for the entire three days of the meet
and therefore should not be removed. The
bracelets will be available at the coaches meeting on Monday.
Please arrange with your athletes where to pick them up from you before
they try to get into the stadium.
Numbers: All athletes must have their number during competition.
Running events contestants must wear these on the front of their
uniform; field athletes may wear their number on the front or back.

Please make sure that they listen to the PA announcements for call to
field events.
Check-In
Area: All races
will be clerked outside the walk-through gate near the finish line (between
the chain link fence and orange fence) with the exception of the 100, 200 and
100/110 hurdles. All athletes
must report to the clerking area before the last call is made.
Heats and lanes may be adjusted according to the number of athletes who
check in. Athletes failing to
check-in immediately following the call for their event and remain in the
check-in area may lose their original heat and lane assignment or their right
to compete.
Off-Limits: The infield of the track, under the stands, and other flagged or fenced
areas are off limits to everyone except active competitors.
Coaches, spectators, and non-active athletes are to remain out of these
areas. Warnings will not be given
and violators may be asked to leave the stadium.
Coaches are asked to help control their athletes. Only
HEAD COACHES may come to the infield to talk to officials.
